During my research on the history of Soo Bahk Do and my instructor family tree, tracing it back to our esteemed founder, Grand Master Whang Kee, I came across a captivating article by Tim Vandehey. It was featured in the October 1989 issue of Black Belt magazine. As I delved deeper, I realized that the rich knowledge passed down through generations is gradually fading away, particularly as many of our elder seniors are no longer with us. In an earnest attempt to safeguard our martial art's history, I sought and obtained permission from Black Belt magazine to present the article in its original form for your reading and enlightenment.
